REVIEWS:
"Ever since hearing the Black Dove demo that was recorded in 2005, I've been waiting for those five songs to make it to the vinyl format. Here, they are combined with four more songs from the former guitarist/vocalist of The Awakening that might as well be the continuation of his former band. If you ever had an ounce of respect for The Awakening, then Black Dove is a band you should definitely check out. They have elements of epic metal, crust, hardcore, and everything in between, and they somehow manage to mold and combine those influences into a hardcore punk sound that is original and invasive. The lyrics, although somewhat reminiscent of early 20th century fantasy literature, have the right kind of politics at their core and match the music well. Gone now are the bicycle-friendly songs of yesteryear. These are dark days, and Black Dove pretty much nails it with depressing silhouettes of torture and anguish. From what I remember, I liked the recording of the demo better than on this record, because of the more metallic edge and altogether darker sound, but I really shouldn't be complaining because this record is absolutely crushing. It just needs to be turned up to ten." --MAXIMUM ROCKNROLL #305 (WK)

"This is some fucking KILLER metallic crust punk here. This reminds me if there was a band that was 50% Framtid's Under the Ashes LP and 50% Parasytic's metal'ed out Hymn LP. This is so fucking raw and crushing but when you add in those metallic guitar licks it throws this one over the top to me. Fucking killer packaging too, which foil stamped jacket and a printed inner." --SORRY STATE
